The plott in between the two english dogs is my 12 month old onyx pup, she has really been doing great. (still have 2 females left, out of same cross ) Hope everyone is having as good a season.

this is one bear we treed that we got to tree, treed another one we didn't get to, and my maltese female, that was by herself came out with bight marks on her hip. over all was a good, "no" great first day of training season. the bear in the pics probably weighed bout 250# it was healthy but not fat, probably would have weighed over 400# if it were fattened up, was very long bear, and had really huge feet.

At that point, I need to acquire a couple more Plotts to run them with. My question is, would it be better to buy a finished and a started dog, 2 started dogs, or 2 finished dogs to train with? Also, my 19 wek old Pocahontas male is running and opening up on game, squirrels and deer mostly, but I just started him on coon skin drags yesterday, ...

We put this nice one up last week. You can't really appreciate this Bears size very well by the pictures due to the day being overcast. It was only about 2:00.

I wish it had been a little earlier though. Because when that bad boy came out these dogs went ballistic chained up 20 feet away! It would have been a great one to re-run!

I'd say it was a good 400 lbs. We let it live to run another day!

My battery died before I could get any good ones of the dogs. Next time though! ...

We put this nice one up yesterday. You can't really appreciate it's size by the pictures due to the day being overcast. It was I'd say a good 400 lbs. We let it live to run another day!

Can anyone name the legends of the Plott Breed in this picture. 2 of these men have owned as many good Plott "Curs" as they called them as any duo ever has. I still remember the day this first place trophy was won at Rock Hill in the Bear Bay. I sure miss getting to hunt & just plain fellowship with 2 legends of the Smoky Mountains.....
