Pocahontas X Crockett cross made

A couple of weeks ago I bred made BearClaw male Major to my Crockett gyp Akita....I bred this pair on 3 different occasions in the peak of her cycle so I hope she took..(Akita came out of a litter of 16 ) ..I've raised litters of beagle pups many of times as a youngster but this will be my first cross of Plott hounds...Both dogs came from Ol' Biggun from the eastern mtns of Tenn....The reason I made this cross for one is my Major male will stick a track all day and has no quit in him...Good nose and loves bear....Akita is full of grit and loves to tree and fight...So I'm hoping with the combination of both the pups will turn out good...I plan on keeping a male out of this cross and I'll keep everyone updated on them when they get here.....Perkey

Akita started having pups today!!!...I went around feeding dogs and noticed she still had food in her pan and when she came out of her box I asked her if she was in labor and heard a whine from her whelping box and opened the lid and there was already 3 wet males in there...They are pretty good size pups and after I got home from my girls soccer practice she had had 3 more...2 females and another male...Akita acted like she was going to have more so I let her be and will check on her later again and keep yall posted on the progress...Perkey

I got 10 now...6 males and 4 females...She might even have a couple more...I should have stocked up on puppy chow !!!!...Perkey

I'm getting ready to go out and check them and then take the big dogs across the mountain and try to find a bear track...I'll post everything later today.....Perkey

My Crockett gyp Akita had ten healthy pups on 8-11-09 and her and all the pups seem to be doing fine....So far she has been a great mother to the pups...If all goes as planned I hope to have them treeing in the next couple of weeks ....lol....I do plan on selling some of these pups but no earlier than eight weeks old and preferably wait til they are atlease 10 weeks...Several people have already inquired about wanting a pup including myself so there maybe at the most 6 or 7 available for sale....My gyp was bred to my Pocahontas Bearclaw/ Ganette male and should make some great pups...I ONLY want these pups to go to someone that I know will hunt these dogs....If you want one just to sit around on the chain, then don't contact me....For the ones that are interested send me a e-mail at gamegetter@comcast.net and I will contact you as soon as possible...Right know I will be keeping atlease one male and 2 other males are spoken for as well as one gyp....Thanks....Perkey

There are 3 nice brindle males in the litter and all the pups have some kind of brindle on them....One of those males will be staying here...One could possible find its way out to Cali Irv if you want him....Let me know...Perkey
