Question on color change Empty Question on color change

I have a 10 week old buckskin Plott. Of the 7 in her litter 5 were brindle and two were buckskin. The other buckskin has some brindle markings on her ears.

What are the chances of my pup getting any brindle markings?

If you don't like buckskins please don't tell me to cull her etc. You'll just be ignored.

Thanks!!!

I HAVE SEEN CUR PUPS DEVELOP BRINDLE .. BUT I WOULD THINK BY 10 WEEKS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO START SEEING SOME SORT OF BRINDLE STARTING TO APPEAR .. EVEN IF VERY FAINT ..

We've had plotts as pups that didn't show much brindle if any at all but as the months went by they started to show more...One thing is if they don't have much now or any at all then they probably won't gain much as they get older...Maybe a lil but i wouldn't get my hopes up for alot....Perkey

Oh I'm not worried about her getting a lot of brindle markings. If I wanted a lot of brindle I would of gotten a black brindle etc. I'm just havin' a hard time finding a KC that will reg. her with no brindle stripes.

You should be able to register the buckskin plott with AKC....Perkey

Try this link to see if it will help... http://www.akc.org/reg/registeradog.cfm

You can reg with AKC. I wish they would change it in NPHA/UKC . All they would have to do is DNA the parents and that dog. I personally like the brown brindle , but if it will do what you want, be it, buckskin, black, brindle of any varation I'll hunt it.

I wish the NPHA/UKC would change the color rule also.

I'll keep the DNA option in mind. Her sire and dam are only UKC registered.

My black brindle was adding stripes up until she turned two so I'm hoping this one adds a few.
