have a plott pup I teased him with a drag that had coon scent on it for about ten minutes before i did a very simple drag but after about 2 minutes he decided he needed to try to play with the other hounds. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Expecially from Gene or Irv. Just don't want to make any mistakes and ruinin the potential of this pup. I'm still pretty new at this.

JIm ~ I just got back from the Big Game Nationals and saw this post. There's No Doubt live critters get their attention as Perkey stated.
Remember, as with any pup training of any kind, "Their Attention Span is Limited." Just like that of a child.
Good Luck!

Jim; It will start when it's ready. The worst thing you can do is push it. Wait a couple weeks and try again. Keep this up until it starts. All pups are different and start at different ages. Gene

Jim ~ They went Great!! I saw a lot of good dog work. Those who didn't get to go really missed out on a lot of fun!

Take it easy, and good luck with your pup!
