What do You look for?

When deciding on a pup or choosing a particular line of Plotts to hunt, What do you look for? What traits stand out the most to you and what early signs do you notice out of pups that make you pic a pup out of a litter?...Just curious for the responses...Perkey

Now someone has got something to add to this thread...I heard of black spotted tongues, black roofs of the mouth, knots on top of the head, 3 whisker hairs under the jaw, etc. for selecting a pup....Also what drives you to a certain line of dogs compared to the other?....Perkey

If I have to pick one? I really don't have a chosen method. I do like conformation, attentive.,busy body, loaner, not overly agressive with the others, but not take no crap either. When I want their attention I want tem to listen to me also. Most of all What I really want is to be able to shut my eyes reach down a pick one. If you are able to do that, you or the breeder if your picking someone elses pup are doing it right.

LOL...I know what you mean there David...The same question was asked to John Wick and his response was that he let others pick the right pup for him...By that means after everyone else picked the pup they wanted he would get the leftovers and make them into coondogs...Interesting if you think about it....Perkey
