Canine Legislation Mandatory Spay Neuter: It's everywhere and the time to fight is now!

HSUS, PETA, and AR extremist groups are on an escalated campaign to write, pass, and enforce mandatory spay neuter laws in almost every state. In 2009, campaigns by these groups have been launched in over 30 states and there is more legislation being generated almost daily. Some of this legislation is cleverly disguised as puppy mill legislation, lemon laws, consumer protection, etc. When you start reading more closely, there are hidden clauses that target the small time persons such as ourselves.

I would like to urge everyone of you to check into your state's legislative sites and just see what is on their books. Some of these laws are threatening and seek to take away from us one of the things that we love-our sports with dogs. There are instances where AR people are posing as prospective buyers just to get into kennels and onto property of dog owners. They are opposed to showing, hunting, night hunts, packs, agility, and any activity that promotes the bond between humans and animals. Check out the outcome of the kennel owner who sold VP Biden his pup. That's a real eye opener.

People, time is of the utmost importance here. In Tennessee, bills are going to be presented on the 15th. In other states, the same pattern is following. Get on the internet, look up your elected officials and send them email, FAXES and get the ball rolling. Conventional mail is not going to move quickly enough. Emails can be generated and sent in a matter of minutes.

DO NOT SIT BACK AND THINK THAT OTHERS WILL DO THE WORK FOR YOU. YOUR OPINIONS MATTER AND NEED TO BE VOICED NOW. IF NOT, THESE GROUPS WILL MANDATE HOW WE LIVE AND HOW WE CAN OR CAN'T RAISE OUR DOGS! These groups look at animal owners as criminals. Their eventual goals are the elimination of animal ownership and EXTINCTION.
